This rocket kit is designed to Ignite instantly and completely wirelessly via the remote, provides immediate thrust which results in rapid acceleration and increased top speed. Designed to be used when the car is in motion, either at the top end of what the ESC/Motor can deliver, or during acceleration/takeoff in a drag race. Other applications include RC Planes, gliders, boats, or bashers to get insane air from jumps. Each kit includes several different mounting components to fit virtually any RC from a Traxxas X-Maxx to a Team Associated DR10. This kit can be used over and over by simply replacing the rocket engine which can be done quickly in the field.
Important info on gearing:
This rocket kit works best for bottom-end acceleration of your RC and is ideal for scale 1/4 mile NPRC drag racing. Gearing likely won't have to be changed if using it for the first half of the run in a drag race. However, using this on the top-end you will likely need to make adjustments to gearing. When the motor is topped out at top speed with standard LiPo-only gearing, pushing it beyond that with a rocket boost could lead to over-revving the motor and having the ESC compensate by adding drag brake or resistance to electronically slow the car down. To compensate for this, you need to gear taller than you normally would so the rocket can use those extra tall gears in the upper range that the normal ESC/Motor combo wouldn't be able to achieve otherwise.
Rocket Configurations:
We offer this kit in 4 varieties; C11-0 Single Barrel, C11-0 Dual Barrel, F15-0 Single Barrel, and F15-0 Double Barrel. You can also add professional assembly, extra rockets, and/or extra switches to your cart. C11 Series engines are suitable for 1/10 speed run cars and drag racing, F15 engines are much larger and should be reserved for heavier 1/5-1/8 scale rigs. The Dual Barrel Rocket Kits can house two rockets which are designed to be ignited simultaneously by using the provided Y-Harness. For advanced users with 4+ channel radios, you can order an additional RX ignition switch and wire it up to where the rockets can fire independently on channel 3 and 4. This allows you to fire one rocket at a lower end / acceleration stage, and another later down the run at the top end - fully utilizing both benefits of the rockets. Higher end radios can also allow for channel mixing where the rocket can be ignited when X% throttle is inputted, for example you can stage an ignition when throttle input hits 90%.
Info about rockets:
We use genuine Estes rockets which come with two ignitors, two plugs, and an assembly guide on how to arm the engine. Each rocket engine has a code denoting power, thrust, and ejection charge which is covered in the manual. We chose engines without ejection charges and those with the best blend of weight, power, and burn time. The F15-0 engines are the largest commercially available from Estes and produce an incredible sustained 22lb of thrust and a 3.5 second burn time. The C11-0 engine is smaller and lighter weight and produces 7lb of sustained thrust with a burn time of 0.8 seconds.
