Killing his older sister on Halloween night, the 6-year old Michael Meyers is institutionalized in Smith’s Grove Warren County Sanitarium, oblivious to all forms of treatment provided by Dr. Samuel Loomis, until he (Meyers) escapes the hospital at the age of 21. Michael returns to Haddonfield and stages a systematic slaughter of a new series of teenagers, all of whom are later revealed to be secondary to Michael’s targeted quarry, Laurie Strode. However, Laurie, later revealed to be Michael’s younger sister, proves to be slightly more resourceful than her peers. She manages to hold Michael at bay long enough for the arrival of Dr. Loomis, the latter of whom empties his revolver into the seemingly unstoppable killer.
